Select Board, December 18, 2023

Reappointments to Transportation Advisory Committee

The Select Board reappointed Scott Smith and Melissa Laube to the Transportation Advisory Committee for terms expiring December 31, 2027. Board members expressed appreciation for Smith and Laube’s service on the committee and the valuable expertise they provide.

Contractor and Drain Layer License

The Select Board approved a request for a contractor and drain layer license from MTP Communications, Inc. of Bellingham for Mark Pavan.

Proclamation Acknowledging 250th Anniversary of Battle of Menotomy

The Select Board acknowledged the 250th anniversary of the Battle of Menotomy with a proclamation. The anniversary will be marked with a reenactment and other events being planned by the Town’s 2025 Committee. Board members complimented the anniversary logo designed by the committee.

Request for Late Night Event Permit

The Select Board approved a request from the Menotomy Grill & Tavern for a late night event permit for December 31.

Correspondence Received

The Select Board received correspondence including a Fox Library housing feasibility study, a request for speed bumps on Appleton Street, and a memo from the Town Manager about vacation buyback. The Appleton Street request was referred to the Town Manager.

License Renewals

The Select Board approved renewal of licenses and permits as listed in the agenda.

Board Member Reelection Announcements

Board Chair Eric Helmuth and member John Hurd announced their intentions to seek reelection in April. Both spoke of their continued passion for serving the Town. Fellow member Len Diggins expressed appreciation for their service and decisions to run again.
