About NanoPress

NanoPress is a local news platform that brings comprehensive, timely coverage to the communities that need it most. The project is funded by Nano Media, a non-profit with the mission to revitalize local news using technology.

Local journalism is essential to civic life, yet newsrooms across the country have shrunk dramatically. NanoPress bridges that gap by combining the most powerful AI agents with editorial principles: accuracy, fairness, transparency, and public service.

NanoPress sites mostly run autonomously. Each site automatically collects information relevant to the town it covers, and rigorously follows journalistic standard to conduct research, fact check, undergo thorough editorial review before publishing content.

Every article includes citations linking back to original source material, so readers can verify the information for themselves. Trust must be earned.

Our goal is to not to compete with existing local news outlets or replace journalists. The need is so vast: we hope our content can fill some gaps.
